There is no cure for getting older and the risk increases with age. Age 40 is the milestone when the risk of the chronic disease of ageing, including heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and dementia increases. As prevention is better than cure, it is the right time to check your blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol level and body weight. It is even better to have a complete health checkup. It is the time to change your diet chart as you gain weight because we lose one percent of muscle mass per year starting from age 40.

Once you hit 40 years of age, your body will burn around 100 calories less per day than it burned previously. So Staying fit is essential as it is the ground base to stay healthy, for obesity is cited as the major reason for most of the lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, high cholesterol etc. Slimming down requires a combination of exercise, healthy lifestyle and appropriate diet. It’s better to modify your diet chart after your 40s. Make sure that your daily eating plan is packed full of nutrient-dense food, like lean protein, fruits and vegetables and low-fat dairy and whole grains.
