Palak Keerai Kootu Kuzhambu – Spinach Dal gravy Recipe
Palak, when used regularly in our diet, can give plethora of health benefits. This is a simple gravy dish, not a very spicy one but definitely tasty.
Palak – 1 bunch
Toor dal /Moong Dal – 2 heaps of teaspoon
Garlic – 5-7 pods
Turmeric powder – a pinch or two
Salt – as needed
For grinding
Coconut – 2 – finger long pieces
Jeera – 1 teaspoon
Red chillies – 3
For Tampering
Oil – as needed
shallots – 2-3
Mustard seeds – little
Red Chillies – 3
(If you dont want to use 6 chillies for grinding and tampering, you can reduce it according to your taste)
Method
1. Pressure cook cleaned and chopped palak, dal and garlic. Mash it.
2. Grind coconut, jeera and red chillies. keep it aside
3. Heat oil in a kadai, crackle mustard seeds and red chillies and fry the chopped shallots.
4. Now add the mashed palak and dal, after a few minutes, add the ground paste and salt.
5. Leave it over the stove for a few more minutes, until they all blend well.
Tasty and healthy Palak kuzhambu ready.
