This is the recipe I learnt from my mother-in-law and the only mutton dish my husband likes. It can be prepared easily and fast and is an excellent dish for rice and any curry.
Ingredients:
Mutton (boneless, chopped into small pieces ) – 200 gms
Onion – 1
Chilli Powder – 1 teaspoon
Cumin/Jeera Powder – ½ teaspoon
Saunf/Fennel powder – little (should be less than jeera powder)
Ginger Garlic paste – 1.2 teaspoon
Coriander leaves – little
Salt – as needed
Oil – as needed
Method
- In a vessel, add mutton, the masala powders, ginger-garlic paste, coriander leaves, salt. Need not mix them.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add the items above mentioned into the hot oil.
- Cook till all mix well and the oil leaves to the sides of the cooker.
- Add little water. Pressure cook the content for 6-7 whistles.
- After the steam is releases, open the cooker and the cooked stuff could be little watery.
- Now heat a kadai and pour the contents from the cooker to the kadai. Simmer the flame and cook till it becomes dry. Keep stirring in between while the water gets dried up.
- Dish is ready to serve.
