Chicken leg piece fry
The chicken leg piece is a favorite among chicken lovers. While we normally prefer deep frying the chicken leg pieces, here is a very simple recipe for preparing a thick gravy using chicken leg pieces.
Ingredients
Chicken leg piece – 4
Turmeric powder – a pinch
Coriander Powder – 3 tablespoon
Chilly powder – 1 tablespoon
Salt- as needed
For grinding
Small Onions (shallots) – 10 nos
Tomato – 1
Garlic – 10 pods
Ginger – 1-1 ½ inch
Cinnamon – small piece
Clove – 4
Saunf/Fennel seeds – small amount
Poppy seeds (Kasa kasa) – small amount
For Tampering
Oil – as needed
Mustard seeds – ½ teaspoon
Urad Dal – ½ teaspoon
Chana Dal – 1 teaspoon
Curry leaves – 10-15 leaves
Method
- Heat Oil in a kadai and add the items under tampering one by one and let them splutter and dals turn golden brown.
- Add chicken leg pieces one by one.
- Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt and coriander powder and stir nicely so that they all mix together nicely.Take care you don’t break the leg pieces.
- Now, add the ground paste to the above and cook till the oil separates out in the corners of the vessel.
- Add water and let it cook in a mild flame till chicken gets cooked well. Add water as required. Consistency is your choice, so based on that make it more watery or thicker.
- Once done, switch off the stove and add a few coriander leaves.
- Yummy Chicken Leg Pieve Gravy is ready to serve.
