Few Simple Ways For a Healthier Living


Food Habits


Right from brushing the teeth to every activity that we get involved, we have started to follow strangers' methods, even before analyzing, or even without a forethought.

If we could bring back the age old methods that our ancestors have taught us in our food habits, most of the diseases and disorders can be prevented to a large extent.

Using different types of grains. We have largely gotten used to including rice and wheat in our diet. But, our forefathers have left us with nutrient-rich diet that included a lot of other grains that includes a variety of millets.


Ragi koozh is a healthy option of full-fledged meal being rich in calcium and carbohydrates and acted as a natural coolant during summers.

Steamed foods are a better option too than baked, roasted or fried foods.

Protein rich Pulses in sambar, masiyal, koottu keeps the body fit and fine.

Mode Of Transport


We step out of the house only to step into a car or a bike. Walking has largely reduced while cycling seems to have gotten obsolete.

You can follow one or more of the following methods in your daily life:

  1. Fix a day for yourself to use your cycle to all the places you travel near by.
  2. Fix a day for walking to travel to all the places.
  3. Fix a few places to reach by foot or by cycle only.

Maintenance of body

Body movements include sitting, standing, walking, lying down. The postures we sit and stand, walk and sleep affect a lot in our keen and back pain. We got so much used to luxury and hence spend to buy sofas, chairs and beds without even thinking what harm it could invite to our body.

Obesity is a very big concern these days and a major cause for knee pain. What we eat, the quantity of food and water intake should be given more importance to help us maintain a healthy body and fit structure.

All of the above facts and information is not new to us. But, it is a just a small attempt from us to remind ourselves about the changes we need to bring in our daily life for a better and healthier living.

It is true. But we can't go back to how parents/grand parents life style or food, because we are taking about the top but actually the root spoiled now. Whatever we eat is atmost 90% grown using chemical fertilizers. We can try to change our transportation. We can walk one km to get bus if we are using public transport.i am doing it. Next we are becoming lazy. Our parents/grand parents they start their days early and end early, but now a days we are doing it in reverse order. We have to get enough sleep in proper time and healthy food. Yes, we stopped sitting on the floor. This also we can change if we try. Last but not least, before trying something new thing once or twice is it really needed or not. Like we don't need hand-wash but started using that too everytime washing the hand. If the hand is oily then need to wash with soap/hand wash else not needed. Simply washing the hands in water is more than enough. Very good post.

Absolutely true...
Change of life style, fast food, artificial flavours, food colours , especially the pesticide used vegetables and fruits...

I agree to your words for walking, sitting on the floor..
Before we used to sit on the floor folding the legs..
That's extremely good for digestion as the blood flows into stomach..
As well beyond the limit also you can't eat..

Sitting in the table and eating, the blood flows down to your leg..
Doesn't help your digestive system...

Now we are all eating whatever we want ,whenever we want, wherever we want...
That's the for cause of all illness...

We should feel our hunger and thirst and eat or drink accordingly...
The rest of it will become alright....

Our sleeping time plays a major role..
Eat before 8 pm..
So that we can avoid many complications...

Sleep as early as possible..
Don't look at your friends, colleagues or relatives sleeping time..
Try to be deactivated from social media after 10 p.m.

All is in our hands..
Little self control will make your life healthier, happier and beautiful...
